Guardianship

  • A legal guardian is a person who has been appointed by a court or otherwise has the legal authority to care for a person or his personal properties and financial affair


  • Guardians are typically used in four situations

  1. Guardianship for an incapacitated senior
  2. Guardianship for a minor
  3. Guardianship for developmentally disabled adults
  4. Guardianship for incompetent adults
